Use of Keyboard Buttons:-

1. Enter Key:- Enter button is used to go to the next line.

2. Caps Lock:- Caps Lock button is used to type information in capital and small letters.

3. Num Lock:- Num Lock button is used to type the numbers.

4. Space Button:- Space Button is used to leave the space in two letters or words.

5. Back Space:- Back space button is used to erase typed characters.

6. Shift Button:- Shift button is used to type the letter on the upper side of the key

7. Navigation Key:- Navigation keys is used to change the cursor position while typing.

8. Delete Button:- Delete button is used to delete letters on the right-side of the cursor while typing. Or delete the selected file or folders.

Names of Keyboard Buttons

When using the keyboard, you use different buttons on the keyboard. These buttons have some names according to their usage. The names of the keys on the keyboard are as follows.

Typewriter Keys:-

Typewriter keys on the keyboard are used to type information. These keys contain letters A to Z, numbers 0 to 9, and different symbols.

Toggle Keys:-

Caps lock, num lock, and scroll lock keys are called toggle keys. The on-off function is used in these keys. That is, when using these keys, the light on the keyboard is on-off.

Function Keys:-

The buttons F1 to F12 on the keyboard are called function keys. Function keys are used for shortcut work on the computer.

Navigation Keys:-

Navigation keys are used to navigate page up and down in a file. Or to change the position of the cursor on the page.

Numeric Keys:-

Numeric keys are used to make use of numbers when typing.

Combination Keys:-

Sometimes you have to use more than one button while working on your computer. Combination keys come together and interact with other buttons. This includes controls, alt, shift, delete buttons.

Special Purpose Keys:-

Special Purpose keys are used for special work in computers.

Home Keys :- The home key is used to move the cursor to the beginning of the line while typing into a file.

End Keys :- The end key is used to move the cursor to the end of the line while typing into a file.

Page-up Keys :- The Page-Up Key is used to move the cursor to the top of the page.

Page-down Keys :- The Page-down Key is used to move the cursor to the bottom of the page.

Print-Screen Keys :- The print screen key is used to capture the computer screen. While working on the computer, we can capture any information through a print-screen button and paste it into paint, word, etc.

Use of Function Keys

Function keys on the keyboard are used for shortcut work on the computer. With the help of Function Keys, we can do some tasks quickly in the computer. And save our time.

The use of Keyboard function keys is as follows.

F1 :- The F1 key is used to get help in a file or program.

F2 :- The F2 key is used to rename the selected file. Also, in Word, Excel, print command can be opened by pressing Ctrl + F2. On most computers, the F2 key is used to open the boot window.

F3 :- The F3 key is used to open a search feature in a program. for example. Windows Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox etc.

F4 :- The F4 key is used to open the address bar in Windows Explorer.

F5 :- F5 key is used to refresh. In MS Word, it is used to open the Find Replace window. And in PowerPoint it is used to view the presentation in fullscreen mode.

F6 :- Typically the F6 key is used to move cursor to the address bar in a browser.

F7 :- The F7 key is used to open a spelling and grammar window in MS Word.

F8 :- The F8 key is used to open the computer in Safe Mode in the Windows operating system. Also, it is used to select the information typed in MS Word. for example. A word is selected when pressing F8 key twice. Pressing F8 key three times a sentence is selected. The paragraph is selected when pressing F8 key four times. Pressing F8 key five times, the whole information is selected.

F9 :- Ctrl + F9 key is used to insert { } symbol in MS Word. And also helps minimize the file in MS Excel.

F10 :- The F10 key is used to show the menu bar in Windows Explorer as well as in Internet Explorer. Ctrl + F10 key is used to restore or maximize the Word, Excel file.

F11 :- The F11 key is used to view Windows Explorer and Internet browsers in full screen mode.

F12 :- The F12 key is used to save Word, Excel, PowerPoint files. Also, the Ctrl + F12 key is used to open Word, Excel, PowerPoint files.

Mouse usually have three buttons.

1. Left Click:- Left click is used to select any information on the computer.

2. Right Click:- Right click is used to get a list of various options related to a file or folder.

3. Scroll:- The scroll is used to navigate the page up and down in a file.

Types of Mouse

1. Optical Mouse :- Optical Mouse is the most commonly used mouse type. The arrow pointer on the computer screen is controlled by the light rays emitted at the bottom of the mouse.

2. Mechanical Mouse :- At the computer screen, the arrow pointer is controlled by a small round ball under the mouse in the mechanical mouse. This mouse is used less.

3. Wireless or Cordless Mouse :- Wireless or cordless mouse works with the help of a battery. He coordinates with the computer through radio frequency or infrared waves.

Scanner is an input device. It is used various types of documents, photographs etc. store in computer. With the help of scanner, you can store your documents and photographs in the computer. And you can use it later as per your requirement.

Installing Scanner

To use the scanner, you first need to install scanner drivers in the computer. Only then can you use the scanner.

To use the scanner, you must first install scanner drivers. For this, you can install scanner drivers through the CD of drivers. Or you can install a scanner driver by visiting the manufacturer company’s website. After successfully installing the drivers, you can use the scanner.

In order to install the scanner drivers by the CD obtained with the scanner, first insert the drivers CD into DVD drive. Then run the setup file in the CD. The setup window will open. Install the scanner drivers by following the instructions given in it.

You can use the scanner after the scanner driver is installed successfully.

Scan a document using scanner

With the help of a scanner, you can store your documents and photographs in the computer. And you can use them later according to your needs. Let’s see how to scan documents with the help of scanner.

To scan the document with the help of a scanner, first you need to open the window of the scanner. For this, first click the Start button.

Click the Devices and Printers option on the right side in the Start menu. The Devices and Printers window will open. The list of devices connected to the computer will be shows in the window. You cab see the name of your scanner. Double click on it. The scan window will open. Now place your document or photo in the scanner that you want to scan.

Then click Preview option at the bottom of the scan window. In the window you will see a preview of the document that you want to scan. Then click on the Scan option. Your document will be scanned and stored in the computer.

LED Monitor:-

LED (light-emitting diode) monitor is a flat-panel monitor. These monitors are used extensively today. Also LEDs Save more energy than other monitor.
